Has Demonstrated Support for the National Guard and Reserve
Lincoln, Neb—With the National Guard and Reserve
military components comprising about 46 percent of the total available
United States military manpower, it is more important than ever that reservists
receive support from their civilian employers. Union Bank & Trust
has demonstrated support for military personnel that goes well above and
beyond what is required by law. The company has become eligible to sign
a Department of Defense "5-Star" Statement of Support, which
recognizes the company's commitment and support of our national defense.
The Statement of Support ceremony will take place at 1:30pm on Nov. 29
at Union Bank's 4732 Calvert St. location. The statement will be presented
by the Nebraska Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
(ESGR), a Department of Defense agency, to Union Bank President Angie
Muhleisen. Muhleisen will also receive a Department
of Defense Patriot Award for her support of Reserve or National Guard
personnel.
"Union Bank joins an elite group of patriotic employers, less than
one percent of employers of Guardsmen and Reservists, who have
achieved the "5-Star" level of recognition by the ESGR and
the Department of Defense," said Nebraska State Chair Arlo Bower.
'We applaud Union Bank for its support of our national defense and employees
who proudly serve the call to duty."
To become a "5-Star" employer, Union Bank has:
Signed a Statement of Support publicly demonstrating their support
for their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
Reviewed their human resources policies to ensure compliance with
the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act Law (USERRA).

their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.

what is required by the USERRA Law.
