Union Bank Partners With Arbor Day Foundation to Plant Trees, Save Paper
Union Bank recently began a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation to highlight the environmental benefits of electronic Statements. Through the remainder of 2008, Union Bank will donate $1 to the Arbor Day foundation each time a customer elects to receive an e-Statement in place of a paper statement. In turn, the Arbor Day Foundation will use that dollar to plant a tree in one of our nation’s forests. In the first two weeks since its introduction, over 4,900 Union Bank customers have elected to receive e-Statements.
“We are grateful for the commitment and support from Union Bank & Trust to planting trees in our national forests,” said Brian Schenk, corporate partners manager with the Arbor Day Foundation. “Trees clean the air and water, protect soil and waterways, and restore habitat for wildlife in our national forests for this and future generations to enjoy.”
As part of this effort, Union Bank introduced their “e-Forest” on the bank’s website, ubt.com, dedicated specifically to this partnership. Customers can learn about e-Statements, the Arbor Day Foundation and other interesting information about our environment. This online feature also includes a virtual forest that represents the trees Arbor Day will plant based on Union Bank’s contributions. The e-Forest will be updated weekly, showing the growth throughout the promotion. The e-Forest can be viewed at ubt.com/eforest.
Union Bank and Trust Company is a privately owned, Nebraska-based bank that offers complete banking, lending, investment and trust services. The bank has thirty-seven full service and loan production offices in Nebraska and Kansas. Union Bank first introduced e-Statements in 2003.
