Bank Recognized With Mayor's Community Conscience Award for Corporate
Philosophy
Lincoln, NE—The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosted the seventh annual
Mayor's Community Conscience Awards breakfast at the Embassy Suites
Hotel on February 28th. Over 200 guests attended the awards ceremony
to honor both a corporation and an individual who have improved Lincoln
through their volunteerism and philanthropy. The Mayor's Community Conscience
award breakfast was created to recognize and salute those firms that
were great citizens and were "Doing good while doing well."
It was hoped that this award might also serve as an incentive for other
corporations to emulate the winners' citizenship.
The winner of the Mayor's Corporate community Conscience
Award was Union Bank & Trust Company. Union Bank is a privately-owned,
Nebraska based bank that offers complete banking, lending, investment
and trust services. Through its progressive, customer-focused management
style, the institution has grown into a thriving, financially diverse
organization.
The winner of the 2006 Mayor's Community Conscience Individual
Achievement Award was Roger T. Larson. In the past 50 years, Roger has
served on the boards of more than 40 organizations in Lincoln; often
as
President.
