Union Bank & Trust Company recently welcomed Tom Willits and Brian
Vahle to its Grand Island, Nebraska office.
With over 30 years of banking experience, Willits joins Union Bank as Vice President & Regional Manager. He is responsible for the planning, marketing, lending and operational activities of the 13 Union Bank locations outside of Lincoln and Omaha. Willits served as Regional Manager for TierOne Bank in North Platte for 15 years, and is Past President & CEO of First State Bank in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Willits earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Kansas State University and continued with graduate courses at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is active in the community, supporting the North Platte Housing Authorities and Lincoln County Community Services, and looks forward to lending a helping hand in Grand Island and tri-city area.
Vahle brings over 17 years of lending experience to his new position. As Vice President & Market Manager, he is primarily responsible for developing commercial lending and business banking solutions for businesses in the tri-city area. Vahle is also responsible for providing direct oversight of Union Bank’s Grand Island branch.
A cum laude graduate of Creighton University
in Omaha, Vahle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration
with an emphasis in Finance. He went on to complete Commercial Real
Estate Finance courses through the Mortgage Banker's Association at
Michigan State University and the University of Wisconsin. Vahle is
a member of the Grand Island YMCA Board of Directors.
