Supporting our communities

The feeling of belonging extends well beyond the walls of our banks. It
spreads out into the community that has given us so much. We are proud of the many employees who generously donate so much of their time in support of charitable, civic, and professional organizations.

7/26/2010 — Joining the Fight Against Cancer
At The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life on July 16-17, thousands of people gathered to celebrate survivors and honor loved ones lost.  Thank you to all who raised funds – our own Union Bank team raised over $11,000 – to fight back against the disease.

6/27/2010 — Barrels Full of Food
This year's Food Drive in support of the Food Bank of Lincoln was a tremendous success. Nearly 400 Lincoln employees teamed up to donate 7,000 items (5,000 pounds of food) and $2,900 to this great cause.

6/20/2010 — Raising Our Hands for Volunteer Partners
176 Union Bank & Trust employees pledged an amazing 2,406 hours of volunteerism and over $600 as part of this year's Volunteer-a-Thon. Through Volunteer Partners, employees can choose from nearly 200 agencies and organizations that need their help.

4/10/2010 — Rolling In Donations for Big Brothers/Big Sisters
Over 100 Union Bank & Trust employees teamed up with friends, family and co-workers to raise nearly $16,000 to benefit Heartland Big Brothers/Big Sisters in their annual Bowl-A-Thon.

10/15/2009 — Learn To Dream Scholarship a Success
Over 640 students are benefitting from the Learn To Dream Scholarship, provided by Union Bank & Trust and Nelnet.

9/1/2009 — We Live United!
Union Bank's 2009 United Way Campaign was a tremendous success. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, the Dollar-A-Dog hot dog eating contest, a prize raffle and a corporate gift, Union Bank & Trust donated over $225,000 to the United Way and Community Health Charities of Nebraska.

3/30/2009 — $25,000 Granted Through Community Choice Challenge
We received a great amount of support from the community. Over 20,000 votes were cast for 34 Lincoln-area non-profit organizations. The top five vote-getters were each awarded $5,000 by Union Bank & Trust.

Our board of directors has established an annual share of earnings for
contributions back into the community in the areas of education, the
arts, and community betterment. In the past five years, the bank and
its holding company have contributed over five million dollars back into the community to these, and many other groups and organizations:
