The feeling of belonging extends well beyond
the walls of our banks. It
spreads out into the community that has given us so much. We are proud
of the many employees who generously donate so much of their time in
support of charitable, civic, and professional organizations.
4/28/2012 — Our Employees Have Huge Hearts
Union Bank employees teamed up to raise over $16,000 in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. This year, employees organized a soup cook-off and soup cookbook to raise more donations. It's an honor to have employees who do so much for our community!
4/21/2012 — Shredding for the Community's Safety
Our 8th annual Community Shred Day was a huge success! We shredded nearly 36,000 pounds of documents on-site in three hours. People who brought documents also received information about fraud and ID theft prevention. Thanks to Paper Tiger, and all those who took part!
4/14/2012 — Bowling for Kids Sake - Big Brothers/Big Sisters
Over 70 Union Bank & Trust employees teamed up with friends, family and co-workers to raise over $13,000 to benefit Heartland Big Brothers/Big Sisters in their annual Bowl-A-Thon.
3/30/2011 — Raising Our Hands for Volunteer Partners
Thank you to the 63 employees who pledged 1,220 volunteer hours and raised nearly $1,000 at last year's Volunteer-A-Thon. Through Volunteer Partners, employees can choose from nearly 200 agencies and organizations that need their help.
6/30/2011 — Stocking the Pantries of Those Who Need it Most
Last year's Food Drive in support of the Food Bank of Lincoln was a tremendous success. Nearly 400 Lincoln employees teamed up to donate 6,350 items (over 2 tons of food) and over $4,000 to this great cause.
7/26/2010 — Joining the Fight Against Cancer
At The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life on July 16-17, thousands of people gathered to celebrate survivors and honor loved ones lost. Thank you to all who raised funds – our own Union Bank team raised over $11,000 – to fight back against the disease.
Our board of directors has established an annual share of earnings for
contributions back into the community in the areas of education, the
arts, and community betterment. In the past five years, the bank and
its holding company have contributed over five million dollars back
into the community to these, and many other groups and organizations:
