Why I Belong At Union Bank...Customer Comments

"A Marvelous Job"

As a small business owner, I am all too aware that we get more negative and contrary mail than we do complimentary.  For that reason, I thought I would send you a letter singing the praises of one of your employees.

I opened a new checking account for my deceased wife's estate at the branch office on 3643 South 48th St.  It was an early Saturday morning and they were having some trouble with the computer, but she did the most marvelous job helping me that morning.  She was dressed comfortably and modestly.  She was upbeat.  It was all done quickly and efficiently and she had just the right tone to her voice explaining things, but not sounding condescending.

That morning it was just not her, but also her co-workers.  One staff member behind the teller window did a fantastic job helping a blind gentleman that morning.  It was just a marvel to see a small town atmosphere at Union Bank.  I told myself then and there that I needed to write a letter.  So, here it is.

"Recently I had a financial problem and in talking with Terry, he, as usual, was able to provide a solution to my problem, kindly and eagerly. Out of necessity, I had to change my account which was accomplished most kindly and efficiently by Anne. I neglected to notify the phone company and when my phone payment arrived at the bank, (to my old account), Jean called me and told me about it and asked if it was okay to take the money out of my newly opened account. (It was, of course).

My past experience with other banks, is that they would have stamped the check "account closed" and sent the check back. NEVER have I experienced such personal service (with ANY business) and never have I dealt with such knowledgeable, informative and polite people as your employees at Union Bank! It makes no difference which branch I visit. I make a point to compliment each teller I deal with and let them know my feelings of your bank.

Your business practices are about 50-75 years behind the times when it was the NORMAL practice to provide the caring and personal service you do. I hope you never modernize. I also know several people who are bank customers of Union and their perspective is the same as mine.

Your bank is a treasured gift in the way you treat your employees and your customers."
