Union Bank & Trust 529 Group Promotes Barnett, Kaup

Union Bank & Trust recently promoted Nancy Barnett and Cari Kaup within the 529 College Savings Group.

Nancy BarnettBarnett, promoted to Vice President, has been with the bank for over 26 years and College Savings Plans for 9 years. She leads the College Savings Group Operations area, overseeing the daily plan operations, fund accounting process, tax, audit and general reporting and coordinates system updates. Barnett previously served as Project Manager in Retirement Plans Services where she was responsible for the set up and conversion of retirement plans, statement generation and annual compliance testing.  She has earned the Certified Retirement Services Professional designation from Cannon Financial Institute. Barnett has studied Business Administration at the University of Nebraska—Lincoln.

Cari KaupKaup, promoted to Vice President, has been with the bank for over 12 years. She leads the 529 College Savings Group Client Service Call Center, oversees the fulfillment center and assists with marketing, sales and relationship management. She oversees the banks industry leading 529 customer care center that services over 150,000 account owners and advisors from all 50 states. Kaup earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Communication Studies from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln.  She is an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Gretna.

Union Bank & Trust has managed nationally recognized 529 plans for 12 years running, with endorsements from leading financial publications including: The Wall Street Journal, USA TODAY, Money Magazine, Kiplinger’s, Saving For College, and Investment News. Currently, the bank serves as program manager for the four-time Morningstar-rated (most recently October 2013) Illinois advisor-sold Bright Directions College Savings Program and Alabama CollegeCounts 529 direct and advisor-sold programs.
