On March 22, 2018, Michelle and Rocco Dicini welcomed their third child into their lives. Gianna was beautiful and everything their little family needed. Her sister, Addi, loved being a big sister, her brother, Rocco Jr., quickly fell in love and became a protector as all big brothers do, and her parents felt complete. Michelle and Rocco did everything to make sure their three kids had everything they needed, and they loved doing everything they could together as a family to create memories. In October, the family attended the Lincoln Children’s Zoo Boo at the Zoo event, and this day meant more to the family than they would ever know. Baby Gianna was smiling and happy, and her siblings were having a ball. Michelle and Rocco loved seeing all their kids having a good time.

Sadly, it was soon after their visit to Boo at the Zoo that baby Gianna became violently ill. Due to the persistence of her parents urging the doctors to figure out what was going on with their daughter, a brain scan revealed she had a brain tumor and the family was rushed to the Children’s Hospital in Omaha where she underwent surgery to remove the mass. Unfortunately, baby Gianna hemorrhaged and passed away less than a day after the family found out she had cancer.

Treasured Memories

To help remember their sweet angel Gianna, Union Bank is providing the family with a brick at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. This is the last place they were all five together and happy. Cali Hlavac with A Sound Impression is also donating a picture slideshow for the family. Michelle and Addi each received a memory charm necklace to be a daily reminder of Gianna.

Rocco Jr. and Addi were both surprised with gifts from their wish list. Rocco received an assortment of hot wheels, and superheroes, and Addi was given a LOL! Surprise Ball as well as Jojo Siwa bows and a few other fun items. Each of them also received new clothes.

Michelle was gifted a new winter coat with a hat and gloves, a foot spa for home, and bath bombs. Spruce Salon also donated a pedicure, haircut, and style for some pampering for her.

Rocco Sr. works for the Department of Corrections and is constantly on his feet, so he received a brand-new pair of work boots. He also received a new gear to support his favorite team, the Raiders.

Since Michelle and Rocco love doing things as a family, they were gifted a variety of games to play together, and a membership to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo and Lincoln Children’s Museum, to help the family continue to make memories. The Lincoln Chidren’s Zoo also donated a meet and greet encounter for the family with their favorite animal – Snow Leopards! A donation was also provided by Sun Valley Lanes for a free HyperBowling, and the Red Fox donated a $50 gift card for the family to eat once they were done bowling.
