As you may know, the Journey Program has been hosting a variety of themed Zoom series while we’ve been unable to travel during the pandemic. These fun and informational events have offered virtual attendees an opportunity to learn more about a variety of topics in a lively, and often interactive, format. Much of the Journey demographic has tuned in to get smarter about getting organized and crisis-proofing their estate plans, make their holidays happier by streamlining food prep and crafting with the grands, and tune up in the new year by learning techniques to refocus on their emotional, financial, and physical health. The response has been overwhelming, thanks to our stellar presenters, and we have more of those series in store, but for the month of March, we decided to take a break from enrichment and focus on entertainment — really special entertainment.

UBT Journey is collaborating with the amazing Theatre Arts For Kids performers to bring you Sing Me a Story, an interactive, cross-generational event that can’t be missed. On Tuesday, March 9, at 2 p.m., we’re joining forces and coming to registered participants live via Zoom for a program full of poignant memories, stories to savor, and the music that moves us.

We asked our Journey participants for their contributions back in January, requesting their favorite songs and the stories behind them (we got some great ones – almost too many to choose from!). The requests ranged from rockin’ numbers from their college days to beautiful ballads played at a loved one’s memorial. It was from this bounty of recollections that the students chose the playlist and have been working on performances that pay homage to these cherished musical memories.

We’re prepared to be wowed as we not only get to hear the new Journey Program Soundtrack, but the reasons these songs were submitted — the tales behind the tunes. It’s a performance by immensely talented, consummately professional entertainers (who just happen to be kids), powered by wonderfully seasoned, thoughtful, intelligent people (who just happen to be Journey program participants). It sounds like the perfect match, and we can’t wait for the finished product.

Although it’s designed for customers in the Journey program, this special event is open to anyone! We just ask that you register soon, as space is limited. We hope to see you there!
