Nathan: Farming is family

June 25, 2026

Nathan Jantzi’s connection to agriculture runs deep — his family started farming in central Nebraska in the early 1900s. Generations later, he lives near his family farm near Columbus, Nebraska, where Nathan grew that love of farming into a career at UBT. As Vice President in our Ag Lending area, Nathan helps area farmers make the most of their operations and finances, and helps them with personal banking, too.

Knowing agriculture and its nuances means Nathan understands the unique needs and challenges farmers face.

“Agriculture is family,” he explains. “You get to work with family-owned and sometimes multigenerational-owned farms to achieve a common goal. You get to see and hear the passion the customer has when trying new science, trends, and technology to improve the efficiency of their soil or how they can improve their feed to achieve a certain rate of gain. I enjoy getting my hands dirty and being a close business partner.”

For Nathan, the most important thing isn’t the financial services he provides. It’s about the relationships he nurtures, just as the farmers themselves are stewards of the land.

“They become your friends,” he says. “You go to their weddings, their kids’ graduations. When they have someone that actually experienced it, they open up and talk to you a lot more. They become a part of you.”

Farmers trust someone who’s been in their boots — and Nathan is always ready to lend a helping hand.
