A 21-year veteran of the wealth management industry when he joined UBT in 2014, John Gessert is fulfilled by the interactions he has with his clients, as well as the variety in what he does on a day-to-day basis. Earning his bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University, he completed law school at the University of Nebraska College of Law.

An active musician and drummer, John is currently serving as president of Lincoln Rotary 14, treasurer of the Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition, a board member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation NE/IA Chapter, a member of the Combined Health Agencies Drive (CHAD) Lincoln board, is on the United Way/CHADD Campaign cabinet, and is a board member of the Nebraska Council on Economic Education. He’s also earned his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) and Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS) professional designations.
