Magenta Wooley is a soft-spoken, hard-working woman who supports her five children financially while making certain they each have what they need emotionally. Magenta continues to help her oldest children, twin boys in college, as much as possible while they are in school. The younger three live at home full-time with Magenta. She’s faced many struggles throughout the years (the recent rise in food and gas prices, for example), but she’ll do what it takes to provide for family. That means working full-time at the League of Human Dignity to help others live independently and working part-time for Door Dash. That’s just what you do when you’re a mom.

Projecting caring and kindness

If you were to walk into Magenta’s office, you would find a clean and neatly organized space that exemplifies her approach to work and life. She's a nurturing lady, projecting caring and kindness. She believes in going the extra mile for family, friends, co-workers, and even office plants that appear to be past saving. Susan Henneman, Magenta’s nominator, painted such an incredible picture of Magenta’s positivity, care, and tenacity, of her determination not to fall victim to her own circumstances and just make someone’s day whenever possible, that we had to meet this family and grant them a much-deserved Magic Moment.

Creating moments of joy

The Wooleys are a close-knit family. They don’t have other relatives in Lincoln, but it’s OK, because being together is awesome, just creating moments of joy. Watching movies together, playing games, playing with the dog, and swimming at the lake or pool are all special family times. And food — they can make any meal a festive occasion. Time spent together is an investment in their future, and that means they can always turn to each other for advice or help figure anything out. Magenta always expected the kids to be there for each other, so they all know that family is the one thing you can always count on.

This holiday season, this special family can count on some extra-special moments of joy. They’ll be attending a Husker men’s basketball game — complete with concessions — and thanks to generous donations, a day at Lost in Fun, a day at the YMCA, a bowling night at Sun Valley Lanes, and a year’s worth of family outings to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo are all on the docket. Additionally, UBT is treating the family to a performance of Madagascar at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, and Yia Yia’s threw in a pizza dinner! The family will also have some craft time at Paint Yourself Silly and meals from Wham Bam Meals and Country Sliced Ham, thanks to those establishments. Runza, Pepperjax Grill, and Old Chicago also offered gift cards to the hungry family on the go.

Magenta’s car needs some TLC, so Southwest Auto Group has offered to fix the hood, replace the windshield, and give her an oil change so she’s road-ready, and U-Stop and Super C supplied plenty of gas cards to help with expenses. UBT supplied some kitchen items, and a UBT employee supplied 10 pounds of ground beef. We felt Magenta also deserved some pampering, and will receive a relaxing facial donated by Zen Life Spa.

Thanks to Scheels, the entire family received some spiffy new tennis shoes, athletic outfits, jogger pants, and/or new coats and gear, so they’re set for the Nebraska winter. KaLeecia also has a new iPod Touch and case, MaLaunie will be zipping around on a new electric scooter in new tennis shoes, Kyrell has a badly needed new dresser (donated by Ernie’s in Ceresco), Ravon will be cooking up delicacies in the new air fryer, and Rashad’s new bedframe (also an Ernie’s donation) was a welcome sight. This sounds like a pretty good Christmas to us, Wooley family! Magenta, UBT wishes you and yours the happiest of holidays.
