Sing me a story

A musical treat from UBT Journey

UBT Journey just wrapped up an event like no other, and we couldn’t wait to share. We collaborated with the amazing Theatre Arts for Kids performers to bring you an interactive, cross-generational event with Journey participants at the center!

Back in January, we asked for your favorite songs — and the poignant memories that went with them. The students chose the playlist based on your requests and worked around school schedules and COVID-19 obstacles to learn and record these treasured tunes, and your memories were woven into the narrative. The result was incredible, and on Tuesday, March 9, we gathered as the curtain went up.

We knew the event was going to be great, and it was. We cried to “Blessings,” danced to “Good Morning Starshine,” did the bom-bom-boms to “Sweet Caroline,” and many more. We think the coolest thing is that this performance was put on by dedicated professionals who gave up their spring break (or at least part of it ) to learn new songs for — and hang with — the Journey crowd.

A big round of applause for TAFK, and a heartfelt thank you to you, our participants, for sharing your treasured memories/insights with us! Music is a great connector, and you provided the bridge in this program. It really afforded these extremely talented kids a wonderful opportunity and treated us to some first-class entertainment.

If you missed the event, no worries! We captured it all on video. Even if you were able to tune in, we know you want to watch it again. Encore, encore!
